What Makes Our Hair Different ?

The Process

At Hadrill Hair, we always make sure that we provide superior hair extensions for our customers. In fact, we have spent over eight years researching our hair extension supplies to make sure we only offer the best. To achieve this, we source our hair from women around the world who purposely grow their hair for selling to the hair extension industry.

Sourcing

Hadrill has our own expert hair selectors so we can be confident that our hair is selected ethically from ponytail hair that is of the finest quality. This means hair that is healthy, never been coloured or bleached (virgin hair) and has the structure that can be coloured whilst maintaining softness and a long wear time. Only ponytail hair is used for our tape, weft and bond hair extensions to ensure the hair cuticles are intact and running in the one direction (Remy hair) which prevents tangling over time and ensures the hair will last 9-12 months with good home care. This process is done in an ethical way where our donors are paid a fair amount of money and we ensure this process occurs with visits to our production team.

Assessment

Once the hair is selected, it is then assessed before processing. Temporary coloured thread is placed at the top and bottom of each ponytail to ensure it remains aligned in the direction of growth during the colouring process.

Colouring

Our colouring process is done slowly and carefully to maintain the integrity of the hair. This is done by our highly experienced expert colour technicians who use our colour swatches each time they produce our products to ensure there is as much consistency as possible. Of course this is still a human product so slight variations can occur however we understand the need to receive hair that matches to our colour ring so that is our priority.

Draw/Ratio

A special tool is then used to remove any shorter or inconsistent hairs from the ponytails before being made into the desired method. We perform this process multiple times to ensure our hair extensions are very full towards the ends of the hair, making it easier for you as a stylist to achieve the desired result.

Making of the extensions

It’s very important to us that your hair extensions do not shed. Therefore we invest in highly skilled technicians that specialize in the techniques of creating invisible tape extensions and miracle wefts, to ensure they are crafted in a precise, neat form and are shed free over time. It’s one of the reasons you will love using our hair and feel comfortable relying on them in your business.

Colour Analysis

Before shipping any hair extensions, the production is checked carefully against the colour ring to ensure that they match. We have a quality control process in place to ensure this occurs for every batch that we produce.

Length Analysis

A sample of each batch is also measured to make sure it is the required length or more. Most of our hair is 1-2 inches longer than the advertised length to ensure you are always getting more for your money.

Draw/Ratio Analysis

The draw/ratio is then checked a second time to make sure it meets our standards.

Wash & Wear Test

The hair is then deep cleansed to remove the anti static moisture treatment that is applied prior to packaging. This allows our Australian team to truly test the cuticle direction, the strength, softness of the hair, as well as how well the colour will hold over time.

Final Approval

Once the hair has been approved through all of these checkpoints it is then made available for purchase. We are incredibly proud of the process Hadrill has in place and it has taken over 10 years of trade to perfect the system that we use.

Ethical Standards Statement

In purchasing a Hadrill product, you are supporting the production of ethically sourced hair.

Ethically sourced hair is hair that has been willingly donated by an individual who has given their consent and been paid a fair and equitable wage for their donation.

We have a well established, long-term relationship with our manufacturing team, who select the highest quality 100% Remy ponytail hair, which is what makes our product such high quality.

Our commitment to ethical standards extends from our hair donors right through to the manufacturing process, and we have developed a Code of Conduct for our factory to ensure that their operations reflect who they are as a brand. These requirements include:

  • A reasonable working day with breaks
  • Employees are paid above industry standard
  • Thorough daily cleaning of the factory to maintain our high hygiene and sanitation standards
  • All equipment is regularly checked and maintained
  • All employees working in the dyeing department wear professional protective masks to reduce exposure to lightener

Thank you for making the decision to shop ethically and contribute to the fair-trade of hair extensions.
